Cuaba is a brand launched in 1996 during the post-revolutionary Cuban era, specializing in uniquely shaped cigars. It belongs to the "Other" portfolio of Habanos SA and was classified as a niche brand in the 2019 classification system.
When Cuaba first appeared, it was considered a premium brand alongside Cohiba and Trinidad, frequently used in exotic commemorative editions. However, its status has gradually declined over the years, and it now only occasionally appears in special editions.
The Divinos offers a similar smoking experience to Half Corona cigars, providing approximately 30 minutes of enjoyment—short yet intense, ideal for a relaxing break after lunch.
Brand Introduction
Cuaba cigars come in a distinctive shape known as the double-ribbed cigar. This shape was very popular in the late 19th century.
Nearly a century later, since 1996, this ancient tradition has been revived at the Romeo y Julieta factory, which produces Cuabas.
Double-ribbed cigars represent the pinnacle of cigar-making craftsmanship. This alone is enough to earn them a place in the hearts of every cigar aficionado.
Cuaba, like Cohiba, is a word from the Taino language, dating back to pre-Columbian times. It refers to a highly flammable shrub that the Taino people used to light their "cohiba" (cigars).
All sizes use a blend of tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region and are "totalmente a mano, tripa larga"—completely handcrafted long-wick cigarettes.
